Kathryn Ferguson

Kathryn Ferguson is an award-winning director from Belfast whose ingenious and boundary-pushing documentary work has been screened globally.

Ferguson studied at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art. Her film, ‘Taking the Waters’, premiered at Sheffield Doc Fest in 2018 and toured the international festival circuit. In 2021 Kathryn worked on the documentary short ‘Space to Be’ for The Guardian’s highly acclaimed documentary film series.

After a decade of concentrating on short-form work centred on identity, gender politics and community, she has recently completed her first feature documentary, ‘Nothing Compares’, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022 and is now playing at festivals around the world.

As well as working as a documentary filmmaker Ferguson also works commercially as a director and has worked with a range of clients, including Nike, Selfridges, Girls Who Code, JD Williams, Amnesty International, Dove, Vogue with HeForShe and Air France.
